Microsoft has revealed that Teams now has over 300 million monthly active users – up from 280 million in January – and with investment continuing and uptake of collaboration tools rising, the platform is expected to keep growing its user base.

The recent launch of the AI-driven Copilot feature was a significant step and further additions are expected throughout the year. Close to 60% of enterprise organisations now use Teams Phone, Rooms, or Premium, according to the vendor and it said revenues from Teams Rooms more than doubled – there are now more than 500,000 active Teams Rooms devices, up 70% on a year ago. Microsoft also revealed that Teams Premium is one of its fastest growing products ever.

Microsoft announced the Teams milestone as part of its Q3 earnings call, in which it revealed that overall sales were up 7% year on year to $52.9 billion, driven largely by cloud. Amongst other dazzling figures, Microsoft said that 80% of its enterprise customers now use five or more Microsoft 365 applications and the application now has more than 63 million consumer subscribers – a rise of 12% compared to 2022.
