First Unity sales made as interest in real-time 3D Solutions surge

Modern WorkplacePublished 9th July 2024

TD SYNNEX Datech has processed its first orders for Unity’s real-time 3D solutions with more prospective sales in the pipeline as interest in the technology soars and more partners get involved.

► Opportunities expanding as interest grows fast in multiple industries

► Direct API link makes it fast and easy to register deals

Unity’s real-time 3D solutions enable customers to build realistic scenarios in which many different aspects and variations can be experienced and explored by users in real-time. It’s been used to create simulations of how a car would look – both externally and internally – with different colours or interiors, for example. It’s also been used to run visually realistic, effective, and immersive simulation training for container ships, enhancing experiences for workers by bringing experiences to life and cutting training times dramatically.

Unity solutions are also being used to unlock the value of data by transforming complex 3D CAD models from multiple sources into a single consolidated, interactive environment, enhancing collaboration and decision-making.

In addition, Unity’s software has been used to develop applications that deliver immersive experiences that are being used with the Apple Vision Pro mixed-reality headset. Unity provides full support for visionOS – the operating system that drives the Vision Pro. Templates, samples, and additional resources are available, allowing developers to use Unity's versatile authoring workflows, XR tools, and cross-platform capabilities to create distinct spatial experiences.

These are just some examples and as Unity’s solutions can also be used with other visualisation and AR/VR systems, there are numerous potential use cases in many industries and plenty of good opportunities available to partners. Datech – the design software business of TD SYNNEX – was appointed to offer Unity’s solutions earlier this year and is ready to help partners get on-board and take these unique tools to market.

Damian Hill, Unity Enablement Manager, Datech Europe, said that interest in real-time 3D is growing quickly. ‘There is a lot of excitement around real-time 3D simulations and almost limitless potential for them to be used in all kinds of industries. We have seen a high level of interest and have already made several sales, with more in prospect, so we’re expecting it to be a busy summer.’

The automated processes that TD SYNNEX has in place are helping too, he added. ‘We have an API link into Unity and that’s making it quick and easy for partners to register deals through us. Partners are also benefiting from our FLAER [find, land, adopt, expand, renew] approach, which is definitely helping them to identify and grow their sales and deliver more value to their customers and to their own business.’

Unity is the world’s leading real-time 3D platform with 3.7 million downloads per month of ‘Made with Unity’ applications. If you would like to find out more about Unity’s real-time 3D solutions, please email william.scott@tdsynnex.com or click on the link below to contact the Datech team.
