An ultra-high performance domain controller, its single-chip CPU computing power can reach 630K Specint2K6, AI computing power 1000TOPS@INT8, and can flexibly allocate computing power according to different needs. Lenovo intelligent driving domain controller AM1 for L2++ is based on TI TDA4VH platform, with CPU computing power of 100K DMIPS. It has rich ADAS functions such as Navigate on Autopilot (NOA), lane deviation warning (LDW) and Home Zone Parking (HPP).
Lenovo Vehicle Computing has applied generative AI and foundation model technology to in-car intelligence
In the new car market, L2 automated driving has become the standard configuration. Lenovo ADAS smart front camera AE1 is the latest entry-level automated driving solution released by Lenovo Vehicle Computing at CES 2024. AE1 is tailored for A0, and A-class cars priced at $7, 000 and below. Based on single V pure vision scheme, TI Sitara SoC is adopted, with small volume and low power consumption, as well as functional level safety. It is a cost-effective L2 automated driving solution in the industry.
Smart cockpit domain controllers VE1/VM1 launched by Lenovo Vehicle Computing adopt X9 series intelligent chips. Around View Monitor (AVM), driver monitoring system (DMS), Occupancy Monitoring System (OMS), Digital Video Recorder (DVR), Auto Parking Assist (APA) and other functional modules can be built in.
Also, intelligent interaction has become an important means to improve the driving experience. Lenovo Vehicle Computing has applied generative AI and foundation model technology to in-car intelligence. The team developed the AI compiler – SpeedWise based on a heterogeneous computing architecture to improve training and inference performance. At CES 2024, Lenovo demoed its fusion perception and interaction technologies based on AI foundation models, which run independently in the vehicle, including digital human simulation and interaction, 3D question-and-answer vehicle usage instructions, intelligent accident handling guidance to meet the needs of various application scenarios.
High gloss stainless magnesium
Consumer electronic products are becoming more and more beautiful, lightweight, and compact. How to make them lightweight while ensuring they are beautiful and of high quality has always been the challenge in the industry.
Magnesium alloys are the lightest engineering material on the Earth, which is 33% lighter than aluminium alloys that are currently being widely used. But traditional magnesium alloys are active and easily corroded, which seriously restricts their application scenarios.
Lenovo believes that ‘good-looking’ and high corrosion resistance magnesium alloys have huge user value in consumer electronic products. And they are also of far-reaching strategic significance for the basic equipment manufacturing industry. By leveraging AI materials genome engineering to accelerate project optimisation, and through continuous innovation and testing during the whole development process, Lenovo has successfully developed a commercially available high-gloss stainless magnesium alloy material for the first time in the industry.
Its corrosion resistance is ten times that of current commercial magnesium alloys in the industry. And the new material formulation, smelting process, moulding technology and coating process ensure that products using this material have a shiny metallic lustre. The ThinkBook 13x Gen 4 laptop, released at CES 2024, is the industry’s first product made of the high gloss stainless magnesium material.
The successful development and commercialisation of the high-gloss stainless magnesium alloy is a breakthrough in the field of basic material technology in China. It is also of far-reaching significance for lightweight consumer electronics, aerospace, transportation, and other equipment manufacturing industries.
