In a keynote address at the HPE Discover conference in Las Vegas, CEO Antonio Neri promised to take partners on its journey to deliver a bold AI future. According to a report on CRN, Neri said that HPE's approach will show that the company has thought carefully about how problems can be addressed with AI in an ‘ethical and sustainable way’ that can benefit society.
► Vendor expected to significantly expand public cloud partnerships
► More announcements expected on HPE GreenLake
In an on-stage discussion with Gilles Thiebaut, HPE senior vice president of worldwide partner ecosystem, Neri was quoted as stating: ‘You will see some very bold moves we are making but also including you in that journey’. He added: ‘I believe we can use data in a different way, at a pace we haven't seen before’.

Neri also told partners that HPE is getting ready to announce an extension of its hybrid cloud proposition with some ‘very interesting’ strategic partners. ‘We have to work with the public cloud’, he said. ‘There is a win-win opportunity here, not by doing some sort of marketing things but really by doing the actual hard work, which is a co-engineering of the value proposition. That creates, ultimately, a long-term, sustainable type of stickiness. There is a lot more to unpack there. I think you will be incredibly pleased by how we continue to fuel the hybrid cloud momentum.’
Describing HPE's May acquisition of AI-based IT operations management developer, OpsRamp, one of the most ‘disruptive’ the company has made, Neri said: ‘The potential of the technology in terms of [being] multivendor, cloud-neutral and AI-driven gives us a significant competitive advantage’ he stated. Neri believes that this will open new possibilities in terms of the way complex IT estates can be managed.
He also called on more partners to go online and experience the HPE GreenLake ‘edge to cloud’ platform for themselves. Significant announcements on HPE GreenLake were expected at HPE Discover, which we will be reporting on Newsflash.
