NAS storage specialist SYNOLOGY has announced the RS6426xs+, a replacement for the RS4021xs+. This powerful 16-bay device Xeon-based device comes with 16GB DDR4 RDIMM and is upgradeable to a massive 96GB – and maximum expandable bays have increased to 64 from 40. It also has two built-in 10GbE and one 1GbE RJ-45 ports.
Also new is the FS200T, replacing the popular DS620slim. Part of the six-bay 2.5 inch Plus series, the new device now comes with 4GB RAM – up from 2GB – and is upgradeable to 8GB. There is also a built- in 2.5GbE port.

The worldwide server market generated a record $125.3 billion revenues in Q4 2025, said IDC, due to as strong AI investment. Revenues were 52.4% higher than in Q424. The influence of AI showed in the balance between x86 and non-X86 growth - 16.9% and 146.4% respectively. Sales of servers with an embedded GPU grew 59.1%. For the full the year total sales were a phenomenal £444 billion. IDC said that hyperscalers and cloud service providers continued to lead demand while the ‘traditional’ on-premises segment remained cautious.

IDC said that smartphone shipments worldwide increased 2.3% year-over-year (YoY) in Q4 2025 to 336.3 million units. Despite a shortage of memory components, sales were sustained by growth in premium devices and foldables, and a pull-forward in demand as consumers anticipated upcoming price hikes. The total number of smartphones shipped reached 1.26 billion units in 2025 overall. Apple and Samsung saw the highest growth rates amongst the Top 5 at 6.3% and 7.9%. The two leaders claimed market shares of 23.6% and 15.7%, respectively.

Within two years, analyst firm Gartner expects 60% of channel companies to be making use of agentic AI to create more personalised interactions and ‘hyperpersonalised experiences. But it warns that strong governance will be needed and personalise customer journeys will need to be tracked week by week. The analyst also predicts that as soon as next year (2027), half of firms’ influencer marketing budgets will be dedicated to verifying content and creator authenticity, performing checks on content provenance and anti-deepfake measures.
