First AI Prompt Engineering workshop to take place at BSC in Bracknell

Following a successful AI round table event, TD SYNNEX is organising a series of workshops on AI Prompt Engineering, with the first technical pre-sales event scheduled for early February at the Business Solutions Centre in Bracknell. The half-day course is designed for technical presales who need to make use of large language models such as ChatGPT, OpenAI, and Bard to design Chat Bots and other AI-driven apps.

► Applicable to all LLMs and foundation models

► Workshops for C-level execs planned as well

While the limited number of places for this initial session are filling up fast, there will be further events throughout the year. In addition to the further Prompt Engineering workshops, there will be courses aimed at Co-level executives on how to put in place the ‘guardrails’ to ensure that AI-driven applications continue to deliver accurate results.

The February workshop will provide an overview of foundation models and /large language models, explain how prompt engineering works, provide examples, and give delegates the opportunity to get hands-on with IBM Watsonx. As well as TD SYNNEX’s own team, expert consultants from IBM will be there to impart their knowledge.

Neil Cornish, ecosystem business manager, said: ‘The effectiveness of generative AI depends on the quality and refinement of the queries. The course will show prompt engineers how they can learn from diverse input data and adapt their work to help generative AI models understand, not only the language, but also the nuance and intent behind the query. A high-quality, thorough and knowledgeable prompt influences the quality of AI-generated content, whether it’s images, code, data summaries or text.’

The workshops and events will precede the planned launch of a partner ecosystem initiative for AI later in the year.
