As one of the longest-established and most successful distribution partners for Dell in the UK, TD SYNNEX is ideally-placed to assist partners in managing their way through the unification and simplification of PC and display brands recently announced by the vendor.
► New simplified brand structure for the AI era
► Makes it easier for partners and customers to identify the right products
On laptops and PCs Dell is moving to a simple three-tier approach with ‘Dell’, ‘Dell Pro’ and ‘Dell Pro Max’ with all old brands – including Inspiron, Latitude, OptiPlex and Precision. In broad terms, current products with a 9000 designation become part of the Dell Pro Max range; 7000 series products become Dell Pro systems; while equivalent 5000 products will simply be branded as Dell.

Within each of the three ranges, products of different specs will be presented as ‘Base’, ‘Plus’ or ‘Premium’. The Dell range will be for play, work and school; the Dell Pro products for professional-grade productivity; and Dell Pro Max systems for maximum performance.
The legacy brands will be phased out as current stocks are depleted, being replaced with the new line-up which will, says Dell, present customers with ‘the simplest PC portfolio for the AI era.’
Display brands are also being unified with most devices now falling under the ‘Dell Pro’ and ‘Dell Pro Plus’ brands, with ‘UltraSharp’ being retained for high-end offerings.
Full details of the changes are being made available by the TD SYNNEX Dell PC systems team, who are ready to help with any questions or issues arising as a result of the changes, said Liam Gibbs, business development manager – Dell client displays & peripherals. ‘Any change can be disruptive and while essentially, nothing changes in terms of the performance, quality and value that Dell delivers, partners and end customers are bound to have questions about the unification of the brands.
‘Dell is doing this to simplify the customer experience and provide clearer differentiation within its portfolio. The new framework makes it easier for everyone. It removes any overlaps between brands and will make it simpler to identify which products are right for each customer. We believe the brand unification will bring positive benefits, and our team is ready to help partners understand and navigate the changes and position them with their customers.’
Some significant enhancements to product designs are also arriving with the new branding. Dell Pro Plus models will come with modular USB-C ports and a modular I/O board. They will also feature a dust mesh and a more rounded, lightweight design. Some models will also come with new Tandem OLED displays, with the promise of a 24% improvement in power efficiency and 49% reduction in weight.
