The partnership will give both current and new partners access to the expertise and resources of TD SYNNEX Security Practice, as well as all Sophos’s advanced security solutions and the benefits of its partner programmes. TD SYNNEX will be working with Sophos on its broader strategy to transition current partners to a two tier engagement model and to identify and on-board new partners. The model will support partners of all sizes, providing all the tools and resources they need to grow Sophos sales.

As well as being made fully available via TD SYNNEX’s InTouch platform, TD SYNNEX will be putting up a dedicated Software Store and adding a stream to its Security Practice Builder enablement methodology. Sophos partners will also be able to include the vendor’s solutions Tech-as-a-Service in quotations for subscription-based purchasing, and take advantage of TD SYNNEX’s extensive credit facilities, including the Credit Elevator programme.

TD SYNNEX has already started recruiting a team to provide expert sales, technical and business development support to Sophos partners. This will more than double the size of the current dedicated security team and provide extensive sales and technical support to all partners. All members of TD SYNNEX’s Security Practice are already going through fast-track knowledge development with the Oxford-based company to ensure they can offer support to Sophos partners from day one. They are also bringing together a training and enablement programme for potential new Sophos partners.

Alison Nixon, director – security, TD SYNNEX Advanced Solutions, UK & Ireland, said: ‘This appointment is hugely exciting and pivotal partnership for TD SYNNEX and Sophos. The deal also provides access to the trusted strength, breadth and scale of TD SYNNEX and the expertise of our specialist security practice. From day one, we will be making the full scope and range of our capabilities available, to ensure partners can offer their end-user customers the very best protection and keep pace with the rapid pace of change in cybersecurity.’

Jonathan Bartholomew, vice president of sales for EMEA North at Sophos, stated: ‘The combination of remote working and the extraordinarily high levels of complex ransomware and other cybercrimes has accelerated the need for effective, comprehensive cybersecurity for businesses of all sizes. TD SYNNEX are a fantastic partner to give the channel the opportunity to expand its own business growth with Sophos. We value the importance of individual service and extensive expertise in IT distribution, and we look forward to the future working with TD SYNNEX.’
