Cisco has reclaimed its place as a Leader in the top right-hand corner of the latest Forrester Wave report on enterprise firewalls – the analyst’s rigorous and renowned assessments of the industry’s leading security solutions. In the evaluation of ten top firewall solution vendors, Cisco Secure Firewall achieved the highest scores possible in 15 of the 27 evaluated criteria, including policy creation and management, threat intelligence, micro-perimeters, vision and innovation.

Forrester noted that Cisco’s solutions provided seamless integration of AI and security in the networking fabric. With Cisco, security controls are embedded at every critical interaction point on the infrastructure, resulting in close integration of network security within endpoint and application security and creating a cohesive security fabric that spans on-premises, cloud and hybrid environments.
Cisco’s Encrypted Visibility Engine (EVE) makes use of machine learning to identify traffic based on behavioural patterns, providing a way to monitor and inspect all traffic and avoiding a trade-off between security and performance. In addition, the Snort3 and SnortML engines use AI to detect zero-day exploits without relying on traditional signatures.
Cisco was the only leader from the Enterprise Firewall assessment to also be named as a leader in The Forrester Wave: Microsegmentation Solutions, Q3 2024, highlighting the capability of the Cisco Secure Firewall to go beyond traditional network boundaries to offer protection at every critical interaction point.
