Panel of co-workers to take part in open, cross-company Q&A on International Women’s Day

Four inspirational co-workers who are closely involved in the company’s UK&I Business Resource Groups (BRGs) were due to take part in an open debate, to be live-streamed across all locations, to celebrate International Women’s Day on 8 March.

► Theme for the discussion will be Inspire Inclusion

► Panel will discuss range of issues and take questions

Organised by the Elevate BRG, which is dedicated to the empowerment of women, the theme for the discussion will be Inspire Inclusion. Co-workers will be able to table questions in advance and ask them during the session.

The panel will be made up of individuals from right across the company. Taking part are: Andy Brown, technical services director and a highly active ally and mentor for the Elevate BRG; Sophia Haywood-Atkinson, services director and a member of the SPECTRUM BRG board; Jade Whymark, Cisco sales general manager and a member of the Elevate panel; and Linda Patterson, senior group marketing director, who is the executive sponsor for the Embrace BRG.

Sophia Whiteford-Mulkern, business development manager – customer lifecycle, and an Elevate panel member, who is co-ordinating the event, said: ‘We have an absolute commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion at TD SYNNEX and wanted to mark International Women’s Day by focusing on how women can be encouraged and inspired in the workplace. That’s something all our panellists support enthusiastically and we’re really looking forward to hearing their insights and views.’

Some of the topics planned for discussion include how organisations can create an environment where women feel empowered to pursue and excel in leadership positions, the role allies can play in advancing and advocating gender equity, and how businesses can ensure the advancement of women is seen as an opportunity for everyone to thrive. The panel will also be sharing the experiences and challenges they have faced in their careers with respect to gender and how that has changed and evolved over the years.
