KIOXIA Europe (formerly Toshiba Memory Europe GmbH), has released its line-up of PCIe4.0 NVMe enterprise and data centre solid state drives (SSDs).
- Range of high-performance data centre drives from former Toshiba Memory Corp. now available
- Latest PCIe/NVMe SSDs drive next-level performance for hyperscale infrastructure
The company was the first to publicly demonstrate PCIe 4.0 SSDs and has followed that up by delivering the first shipments of its next-generation drives, designed for high performance data centres running Big Data, AI, analytics, HPC and finance apps.
The CM6 Series Enterprise NVMe SSDs are dual-ported for high-availability and deliver performance more than two times that available with PCIe 3.0. KIOXIA quotes sequential and random read/write performance of up to 6.9 GB/s and up to 1.4M IOPS respectively. These drives are as much as 12x faster than typical SATA drives and are available in capacities of up to 31 TB.
Also available are the CD6 series of single-ported SSDs, designed for less demanding hyperscale datacentres and general purpose applications, such as database, cloud/container environments, web servers and media streaming. The CD6 Series will be available in capacities of up to 15TB, with up to 6.2GB/s throughput and 1.0 M IOPS random access performance.
