Accelerated computing and “Physical AI” set the stage for transformative change
At the recent TD SYNNEX Explore: Destination AI event, over 100 partners gathered to hear a visionary keynote from Ross Verrall, Leader of Enterprise Services for NVIDIA across EMEA. His presentation offered a compelling look at how AI and accelerated computing are reshaping industries and unlocking new commercial opportunities.
Since joining NVIDIA in 2018, Ross has seen exponential growth in demand for AI-powered solutions. He spotlighted CUDA, NVIDIA’s parallel computing platform, as the engine behind this momentum. With over 53 million downloads, 3,700 GPU-accelerated applications, and support for 5 million developers across 40,000 companies, CUDA has become a cornerstone of the global AI ecosystem. Thousands of generative AI startups now build on the NVIDIA platform, driving innovation and scalability.
Ross explained how accelerated computing has reached a tipping point, attracting developers, resellers, and customers into a rapidly expanding network. This surge is not only transforming digital workflows but also enabling AI to automate and optimise the physical world.
Introducing the concept of Physical AI, Ross described how artificial intelligence will revolutionise factory automation and warehouse operations. He predicted that 10 million factories and 200,000 warehouses will be automated globally, powered by AI-driven systems. He also highlighted two transformative technologies: autonomous vehicles and humanoid robots. With 1.5 billion cars and trucks poised to become self-driving and billions of humanoid robots expected to enter the workforce, Ross illustrated how these innovations are perfectly suited to operate within human-built environments.
Partners left the session energised by the scale of opportunity and the practical applications of NVIDIA’s technology. Ross’s keynote not only showcased the power of AI in enterprise computing, but also positioned TD SYNNEX partners to lead the charge in delivering next-generation solutions to customers across sectors with Destination AI.
