During the recent TD SYNNEX Explore: Destination AI event in London recently, Guy Gregory, partner solution architect at Microsoft, took to the stage to present to over 100 curious partners the concept of ‘becoming an agent boss’. The term ‘agent boss’ is defined as ‘a human manager of one or more agents’, highlighting the evolving relationship between individuals and AI-powered agents within business environments.
Guy opened the session with some findings from the 2025: The year the Frontier Firm is born from Microsoft. In particular, he focused on the journey to the frontier firm; which begins by leveraging AI to accelerate work, before delegating routine and menial tasks to AI agents. Ultimately, this evolution leads to AI managing entire business workflows and processes.
Live Demonstration: Harnessing AI Agents and Human Expertise
To illustrate this evolution, Guy showcased a live demonstration of how AI agents, Copilot, and human expertise can work together. Using GitHub and Azure AI Foundry, he demonstrated the process of building a website, showing the practical application and benefits of integrating AI into everyday business projects.
