Laptop sales have been surging as businesses rush to upgrade before Windows 10 End of Support on 14 October 2025 – and the boom is expected to continue long after the deadline has passed.
► Demand expected to remain high in Q4 and into 2026
► Customers may be at heightened risk if they don’t upgrade promptly
Jay Allen, business unit director – PC Systems, TD SYNNEX, says that there is no sign of a slowdown. ‘We expect to see sustained and strong demand for Windows 11 Pro laptops across the final quarter and into 2026. Despite the best efforts that the industry has made over the last few months, we know that there are still many thousands of businesses and individuals who haven’t got around to it, or don’t realise that they need to upgrade.’

While businesses can choose to keep their Windows 10 devices and enter the Extended Security Updates (ESU) programme , having to pay to get security updates and bug fixes may come as a surprise. Making the move to Windows 11 offers performance improvements, better integration with modern hardware, and enhanced productivity features. Staying on Windows 10 could mean missing out on these benefits, impacting employee efficiency and competitiveness.
‘For partners, the message is to keep pushing and promoting the need for customers to act. Even after 14 October, there will be a lot of systems that still need to be upgraded. We will be working with all our key vendors to make sure the inventory is available and partners can go on meeting the continued strong demand.’
