MSP budgets rise to meet growing demand

Managed service providers (MSPs) are increasing their spending by as much as 70% to meet growing enterprise demands and many are also choosing to buy refurbished or remanufactured equipment rather than brand new products to meet their growing needs, according to a new report from specialist supplier of refurbished IT products, ETB Technologies.


► 80% of MSPs have significantly increased their IT budget as demand for enterprise IT increases across the board, according to new report from ETB Technologies.

► 30% currently buy refurbished technology while 84% said they had bought it in the past.


While 80% of respondents have increased their budget spend overall, 67% have doubled (50%) their budget size with the remaining respondents (27%) saying they had increased their budget by as much as 60-70%.

Almost a third of MSPs (30%) said they buy refurbished equipment with 84% saying they had bought it in the past. The report, called A changing tide – booming MSP budgets and the role of refurbished IT, explores current trends impacting MSPs. Unsurprisingly perhaps, it notes an almost universal shift in IT strategy which, post-pandemic, has seen many organisations move towards a hybrid cloud strategy.
