Cisco to acquire cybersecurity and observability specialist Splunk

Cisco is to acquire the cybersecurity and observability specialist Splunk, accelerating its strategy to provide secure connections for the whole network.

Chuck Robbins, chair and CEO of Cisco, said: ‘Our combined capabilities will drive the next generation of AI-enabled security and observability. In a statement the firms said that Splunk's security capabilities complement Cisco's existing portfolio, and together, will provide leading security analytics and coverage from devices to applications to clouds.

The also noted that Cisco and Splunk's complementary capabilities will provide observability across hybrid and multi-cloud environments and will help customers responsibly harness the power of AI.
