HPE has agreed to acquire software for hybrid cloud management and platform operations specialist, Morpheus Data, extending the capabilities of GreenLake with multi-vendor, multi-cloud application provisioning, orchestration, automation, and cost optimisation.
► Adds multicloud automation and orchestration
► Gives HPE full suite across the cloud stack
The vendor said that the acquisition complements the capabilities of OpsRamp, the AI-driven IT ops management platform it bought in 2023 and gives HPE a full suite of enterprise-grade capabilities and services across the hybrid cloud stack.
In a statement, HPE said that ‘GreenLake is evolving into the future-proof platform for managing virtualised, cloud-native and AI workloads.’ The addition of Morpheus will enable customers to orchestrate and automate the full lifecycle management of applications across hybrid environments with HPE GreenLake, customers will be able to seamlessly provision and manage almost any workload across traditional and modern cloud environments.
It will also help them to optimise spending across cloud environments through extensive ‘FinOps’ capabilities and enable customers to understand their cloud spend, put guardrails around usage and optimise workloads to lower costs.
