Lenovo ISG underlines its storage market credentials with more than 300% growth

Lenovo has set out its stall to become a real challenger in the server and storage market and its latest quarterly results show that it’s making real progress in its efforts to become established as a leading player in both areas – for both the enterprise and SMB markets.


► Server sales growth up 35%

► ISG overall sales rises by 48%


The company saw storage sales grow by a whopping 345% year on year in its Q3 (to 31 December 2022), making it the #5 ranked player globally. Server sales were up by 35%, making Lenovo the #3 in this segment of the market worldwide. This was against the backdrop of overall sales rising 24% to $15.3 billion, with the Solutions and Services Group (SSG) client business up 23% and Infrastructure Solutions Group (ISG) increasing 48%.

These results underline the strong progress and development of Lenovo and have been achieved by driving partner growth across all segments of the market, said Gary Armstrong, business unit manager – Lenovo ISG at TD SYNNEX.

‘The perception of Lenovo has changed. It’s no longer seen as a laptop and PC vendor – it’s reputation for quality, reliability and performance is spreading. More customers are testing, evaluating and making use of the company’s server and storage solutions and having really positive experiences. That’s what’s driving the strong growth figure we are seeing at a global level – and Lenovo partners are benefiting from that too.’

The growth is coming from all segments of the market, he noted. ‘While Lenovo is certainly making inroads into the enterprise and data centre space, we are also seeing a lot of growth in SMB, where Lenovo is already a strong and trusted brand.’
