As a Microsoft partner, you may have already heard about the new Microsoft Cloud Partner Programme launched in October 2022. This new programme aims to encourage partners to wrap in their own value-added services and solutions to the Microsoft portfolio, have a look at your Microsoft Partner Centre to determine how you are tracking towards the six new solution partner designations.
While partners can still renew legacy benefits on the previous partner model for another year, you can no longer use your old badges. You will need to note that while benefits will continue, we expect you will no longer earn any backend incentives (Rebate/Co-Op) on CSP business after October 2023.
You cannot achieve the new Solutions Designations by simply selling licences and offering basic 'break-fix' support
Instead, the new Cloud Solutions Partner model encourages partners to provide professional services, managed services, and end-user adoption services to ensure the end customer gets the best possible outcome for their business. By doing so, partners will bring value to customers, who will in turn become more loyal to both the partner and Microsoft.
Microsoft is committed to supporting its partners in three major areas:
Strengthening their digital capabilities
Deepening their technical capabilities
Streamlining engagement between Microsoft and their partners
Microsoft is providing well-defined guidelines and resources for partners across digital experiences to navigate building solutions more effortlessly, going-to-market, and selling with Microsoft. By aligning partner experiences across the commercial marketplace, Partner Centre, and the Microsoft Partner Network, Microsoft is making it easier for everyone to engage and collaborate.
Microsoft is also equipping partners to better meet their customer needs by investing in and accelerating joint capability. They are supporting partners on readiness journeys by helping them gain advanced specialisations and deep technical training across solution areas including business applications, Azure and security, compliance and identity.
Finally, Microsoft is sharing more opportunities and enhancing the commercial marketplace as well as Partner Centre, making it easier for partners to engage with them and drive profitability. Through these initiatives, partners can invest even more deeply in their own growth plans.
As a partner, it is important to understand the new Microsoft Cloud Partner Programme and how to achieve points in each of the categories to qualify for the new Solutions Partner Designations. We are here to help you understand the importance of providing value-added services and solutions to customers.
