Simon Bennett, who heads the TD SYNNEX Cloud Solutions specialist business unit in the UK, said: ‘We have a close alignment with the aims and the spirit of the Partner Pledge. Like Microsoft, we are committed to moving as quickly as we can toward net zero, to looking after our people and our partners, and doing whatever we can to make the world a better place.

‘Those may sound like lofty ambitions, but if we all do enough to make positive changes, our industry can make a real difference. We have signed up because we believe it’s the right thing to do and to demonstrate our commitment to its aims.

Matt Child, managing director – Advanced Solutions, UK and Ireland, TD SYNNEX, added: ‘All senior leaders within the Advanced Solutions business have joined both the internal TD SYNNEX mentoring programme, as well as aligning to a BRG, to ensure that not only do they give the benefit of their experience to co-workers and encourage progression, but also drive awareness around our diversity, equity and inclusion ambitions, and play an active role in making this ‘business as usual’ within the UK&I entities.’

The Partner Pledge recognises that Microsoft and its partners are in a unique position to come together to make an impact. It is centered on three themes – growing talent; enhancing diversity and inclusion; and shaping a desirable world.

TD SYNNEX UK and Ireland is working on a plan to move towards net zero carbon

Signing the Partner Pledge is a further demonstration of TD SYNNEX’s commitment to becoming a more sustainable business. Having conducted a complete assessment of its emissions with Arete Zero Carbon last year, TD SYNNEX UK and Ireland is working on a plan to move towards net zero carbon (NZC). It has subsequently launched a NZC consultancy service that partners can use to measure their own emissions and set out a net zero plan.

Since January 2023, TD SYNNEX has been using green energy in three of its four UK locations – including its warehouse at Magna Park, Lutterworth, which is the site that consumes the most energy of the four.

TD SYNNEX has also been making strides in terms of diversity, equity and inclusion

TD SYNNEX has also been making strides in terms of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI). It currently has three business resource groups (BRGs) running in the UK and Ireland: Elevate, which is dedicated to the empowerment of women in IT; SPECTRUM, which provides support for LGBTQ+ co-workers; and Embrace, which aims to ensure people of all races, religions and cultures feel welcome, comfortable and represented within the company. A fourth BRG, Limitless, which is focused on disability and neurodiversity will be launched very soon, further supporting the drive to make TD SYNNEX a great place to work.

TD SYNNEX UK and Ireland was a founder member off the Technology Community for Racial Equality (TC4RE) and recently qualified under the Bronze category in the EcoVadis Ratings for environmental, social, and governance (ESG), and now falls into the top 50% of performers.
