Sharp has developed a set of recommendations to help businesses properly and safely clean and disinfect the surfaces of shared devices, including its MFPs, printers, monitors, touchscreens, laptops, electronic cash registers, and electronic point of sale terminals.
- Set of clear guidelines will be useful for both partners and their customers
- Provides simple outline on how to clean office kit properly and safely
The instructions set out clear best practice for cleaning equipment in shared offices or retail spaces and will be useful both for partners and their customers as they return to work. Not everyone will know for example that, when cleaning an MFP, you should start with the display or control panel, wiping only in one direction, and finish with any flexible cables.
They also point out that sprays and paper towels should not be used for office equipment, and that you should use an alcohol/water mixture that is no stronger than 70% isopropyl or ethanol alcohol. Abrasives or chemicals such as bleach, ammonia, acetone, peroxide, or other cleaning agents should never be used.
