AI skills in high demand

Research from recruitment specialist Indeed on the US hi-tech jobs market, has found that AI skills are likely to be the most in demand and best-paid roles for 2024, with half of the highest-paid skills in tech being specific to the technology. The company’s January jobs showed a high number of openings available but also noted that expectations were higher in terms of skills.

Top 10 tech skills in the US and average salary potential…

  1. Generative AI, $174,727
  2. System on a Chip (SoC), $174,564
  3. Deep learning, $170,939 (Subset of machine learning methods based on artificial neural networks with representation learning)
  4. Torch, $169,874 (Open-source ML, scientific computing framework, and scripting language)
  5. PyTorch, $168,636 (Machine learning framework based on the Torch library)
  6. Computer vision, $166,873
  7. SystemVerilog, $165,832: (Hardware description and verification language used to model, design, simulate, test and implement electronic systems)
  8. Mesos, $165,788: (Open-source project to manage computer clusters like CPU, memory, storage and other compute resources)
  9. Rust, $165,637: (General-purpose programming language that emphasises performance, type safety and concurrency.)
  10. Elixir, $165,245: (Functional, concurrent, high-level general-purpose programming language that is also used to implement the Erlang programming language)
