The two companies are making the call after listening to partner feedback, said Nick Stancliffe, business development manager, unified communication and collaboration. ‘One of the big challenges partners have is thinking beyond the tech’ and making sure the customer gets the best possible experience. That means considering the whole design and room layout.

‘We tend to talk a lot about the technology itself – about large format displays and audio, and how AI can provide a more engaging and interactive experience. But it’s also important to consider the user context. There has also been a tendency to pigeonhole customer scenarios as ‘small’, ‘medium’ or ‘large’ and in many cases, as well as the physical size of the room and likely number of users, we should think about how it’s going to be utilised.
‘It could be used as a simple meeting space, or for presentations and training. Or a boardroom in which there are likely to be multiple participants – present and remote. It could be for hybrid ‘town halls’, where some participants are there and others in different locations.
‘Whatever the scenario, our primary focus – Maverick’s and the partner’s – will tend to be on identifying the best and most suitable technology platform and products, rather than the layout of the room and how the space will be set-up and used.’
This is where Salamander Designs’ high-quality furniture, which includes tables, chairs and mounts that have been designed for use in meeting rooms, comes into play. The range includes arced tables that place everyone at an equal distance from the screen and chairs and layouts that enable everyone in the meeting – present and remote – to be face to face and at eye level with each other.
‘We added Salamander to our portfolio in August last year and it’s been going well’, said Nick. ‘And when we looked at the feedback, we were convinced that more partners can benefit by thinking a little bit differently about meeting rooms and looking at how they can use of the Salamander range to add more value and extend opportunities.’
