The team running TD SYNNEX’s Elevate business resource group (BRG), which drives and supports the empowerment of women within the business and the industry, has put out the call for co-worker applicants for its Elevate Yourself 2024 (EY24) Challenge, which this year will see 23 intrepid individuals take on the famous 13-mile Seven Sisters hike over the white cliffs of England.

The Elevate team is asking co-workers who act as mentors and allies for women across the company to apply for the challenge, which will take place in July. . As well as raising awareness of Elevate and its valuable role within TD SYNNEX, the EY24 Challenge group will be asking for donations to Women’s Aid, which works to end domestic abuse against women and children.
In October last year, with the support of Women’s Aid, the Elevate team launched the TD SYNNEX Against Abuse in the UK campaign, to raise awareness of domestic abuse and support any affected co-workers. TD SYNNEX also joined the Employers’ Initiative on Domestic Abuse (EIDA), a leading business network that supports employers in taking action on domestic abuse.
The Seven Sisters are a series of iconic chalk cliffs stretching from Cuckmere Haven to Birling Gap, between Seaford and Eastbourne in East Sussex. Topped with a carpet of green grass and brilliant white cliffs that plunge dramatically into the sea, they are one of England’s most striking and memorable landmarks.
‘Last year’s Scafell Pike challenge was really tough. This year we wanted to bring the event to the south and the Seven Sisters seemed like a very appropriate and suitable challenge’ said Sophie Burrows, digital marketing manager at TD SYNNEX and member of the Elevate board. ‘As well as their proximity to the Basingstoke and Bracknell offices, there is the symbolism of the name, which makes it a really appropriate location for FY24 Challenge. We’re expecting to get a lot of applications.’
While the 13.2 mile walk is technically easy, the extended distance and ascents and descents over the cliffs makes it quite a challenge. Two trained guides will lead the group.
