The latest global Public Sector Enterprise Cloud Index (ECI) survey and report from Nutanix, which measures progress with cloud adoption, has found that while 83% of public sector organisations have a GenAI strategy in place, security and infrastructure gaps are holding adoption back.

► Three quarters say infrastructure needs improvement

► Nine out of ten have security concerns

With 54% actively implementing, and 29% preparing for implementation, rates of adoption are high in the public sector. But 92% of leaders said they need to do more to secure GenAI models and applications. In addition, 76% of IT decision-makers say their current infrastructure needs improvement to support cloud native applications at scale.
