Microsoft has launched a version of Teams designed for smaller businesses – a stand-alone offering that brings together essential features and capabilities, such as unlimited group video calls for up to 30 hours, group chat, file sharing, and calendaring.

Microsoft Teams Essentials comes with extended limits, like longer meetings and more storage. It will support up to 300 participants per meeting and gives users 10GB of cloud storage each. They can also access 24/7 phone and web support. It is being offered at a cost of £3 per user per month.
In a blog announcing the new version, Jared Spataro, Corporate Vice President for Microsoft 365, stated: ‘With Teams Essentials, small businesses from restaurants to retailers to professional services can easily meet, collaborate, communicate, and serve customers in new ways.’
