Cisco has released its much-anticipated Secure Firewall 3100 Series to meet the needs of SMBs and mid-sized customers who want simple, resilient, cost-effective, enterprise-class security that can scale as they grow.

The Secure Firewall 3100 Series has a fundamentally new architecture and is designed to deliver excellent performance – especially for encrypted traffic. It is also easy to install and manage and extremely cost-effective.
The 1U devices use Cisco’s intelligent internal switch fabric and feature an x86-based CPU. They come with Cisco’s Threat Defense software, which delivers proven deep packet inspection, inference-based application identification and malware classification with Cisco’s recently released Encrypted Visibility Engine (EVE). All the software components and customer data are hosted on self-encrypting and optionally redundant Solid-State Drives (SSD) for extra peace of mind.
Enterprise-class features include a multi-instance capability that enables full resource separation between individually configured firewall tenants, and clustering support for up to eight appliances.
