The TD SYNNEX Microsoft team has been keeping partners up to date with changes that were recently announced to Microsoft Open Value (OV) and Open Value Subscription (OVS) licensing programmes and is ready to answer any outstanding issues or queries
► Price changes applied from start of November
► No changes expected to CSP programme
Starting 1 November 2024, Microsoft increased licensing prices for annuity, Open Value and Open Value Subscription. The changes impact the majority of products across all license agreement types. Partners have been advised to review their pricing within InTouch to assess any implications for outstanding quotations or upcoming renewals. The range of increase is between 3% and 10%. No changes to CSP pricing are expected.
Sabrina Gosney, Microsoft GTM business manager, TD SYNNEX, said: ‘These changes are important and were only communicated to the channel late in October, so partners did not have too much of an opportunity to absorb them before they were implemented. We’re ready to help them understand any further questions that they or their customers might have and to help them explore the different options available to them moving forward.”
Microsoft Open Value (OV) is a volume licensing programme that allows organisations to license Microsoft software and services. It's designed for organisations with five to 499 users or devices, and includes Software Assurance, which provides benefits like training, software upgrades, and product support. Open Value Subscription (OVS) is a low-cost, easy way to license Microsoft software with a simple, three-year rental agreement. OVS is specifically designed as the optimum licensing solution for companies with five to 250 desktops.
