HP has introduced new security labels for its ink and toner cartridges and are designed to further increase protection of HP partners and customers from counterfeit printing supplies.
► Latest weapon in constant battle against counterfeits
► Protect customers and protect your business
The company is rolling out new security labels for its printing supplies that provide an even more reliable means to check cartridges for signs of counterfeiting. This is part of HP’s constant battle to ensure customers and partners are safeguarded from the dangers of fake replacements.
Sara Mitchell, supplies business manager, said: ‘By taking a strong stance against fake cartridges and supplies, HP is helping its partners to deliver the investment protection customers expect from their trusted IT advisor. The labelling is just the latest in addition to HP’s armoury in the constant battle against the counterfeiters. It’s important for partners to stay aware of the dangers as well, as it’s not only customers who will suffer when fake supplies make it through, but the partners’ profits as well. ‘
A special Anti-Counterfeiting and Fraud (ACF) guide is available that explains the new labels and how you can check for signs of counterfeiting. There is also a video tutorial that will give you the key information you need in just two minutes. All these resources can be shared with interested HP customers.
To safely source original products, HP recommends:
- Only buy from trusted partners, such as TD SYNNEX
- Only accept products in unopened original HP packaging
- Beware of suspiciously low prices
If you or your customers have any counterfeiting suspicions, please inform our team or contact HP’s own ACF experts. Customers can also request a free Customer Delivery Inspection (CDI) if suspicious about a large/mid-sized cartridge delivery.
