TD SYNNEX’s Global Computing Components (GCC) team is encouraging systems integrators and builders to share their plans well in advance to help make forecasting more accurate and avert the potential for constraints in supply.

As businesses return to the workplace and adapt their infrastructures for hybrid working practices, delayed projects are being restarted and new ones are being instigated. This is going to increase demand for key components and with some supplies already in constraint, the GCC team wants integrators and systems builders to share their plans as far in advance as possible.
Jas Garcha, Director of Solution Enablement, Europe and Global, GCC at TD SYNNEX, said: ‘All the indicators point to there being sustained high demand for CPUs, memory, SSD and other system components over the coming months. As always, we are planning as carefully as we can to try and meet our partners’ requirements, so that they can meet the needs of their customers. The more information we have and the further in advance we have it, the easier that becomes.’
He was at pains to point out that this is not about TD SYNNEX trying to secure orders at today’s prices. ‘We are not asking customers to commit early, only to give us an estimate of their expected needs. For us, it is about trying to optimise the level of stock we order and making sure that the supply lines stay open and any potential for disruption and allocation is minimised.’
Recent announcements of forthcoming new products from leading players, such as Intel, AMD, and NVIDIA, are likely to create further interest and activity, making it even more important to plan well in advance.
