Microsoft has announced a number of changes to the branding of Office 365 products, with many of them being renamed under the Microsoft 365 convention. But nothing else is altered – pricing and features stay as they are, and the changes will be reflected automatically in StreamOne.

  • Some Office 365 products now fall under the Microsoft 365 banner
  • No immediate changes to functionality or pricing
  • All changes reflected within StreamOne automatically

Office 365 subscriptions for SMBs and Office 365 ProPlus offerings have now become part of the M365 family. The new product names come into effect on April 21, 2020. This is a change to the product name only, and there are no pricing or feature changes at this time.

Microsoft evolves its 365 branding
  • Office 365 Business Essentials becomes Microsoft 365 Business Basic.
  • Office 365 Business Premium becomes Microsoft 365 Business Standard.
  • Microsoft 365 Business becomes Microsoft 365 Business Premium.
  • Office 365 Business and Office 365 ProPlus both become Microsoft 365 Apps. Where necessary, ‘for business’ and ‘for enterprise’ labels will be used to distinguish between the two.

In addition, the company has also announced the Microsoft 365 Personal and Family Subscriptions for single-user consumers. Here too, Office 365 has become Microsoft 365. It has also unveiled two new Microsoft 365 experiences that will roll out in preview in the coming months – a new Microsoft Family Safety app and additions to Microsoft Teams designed for use by friends and family.

In a statement, the Microsoft described the changes as ‘a natural evolution’ that would make it easier for customers to select the right plan for their needs.

All the changes will be applied automatically in StreamOne, making it straight-forward for Microsoft CSP partners to adapt and select the right offering. If you have any questions about the name changes, please email csp@techdata.co.uk
