With the recent heatwaves underlining the urgency of taking action to prevent further climate changes, TD SYNNEX is helping partners to become more sustainable businesses by providing a Net Zero Carbon (NZC) consultancy service.
► Service enables partners to make full assessment of Scopes 1,2 and 3 and formulae plan to reduce emissions
► Extends sustainability drive in the channel and helps partners enhance business value
The NZC consultancy service will enable partners to calculate their carbon footprint and develop an action plan to address their Scope 1,2, and 3 goals using the globally accepted Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol. The service is being offered in partnership with specialist NZC consultancy, Arete Zero Carbon. TD SYNNEX has already worked with Arete to assess its own emissions and develop an action plan to move towards net zero.
Four service packages will be available via TD SYNNEX:
- Bronze – this provides a Basic Carbon Assessment to give the business a good understanding of its emissions.
- Silver – an Advanced Carbon Assessment that assess the carbon impact of a partner’s operations and supply chain, with a detailed analysis of upstream and downstream partners.
- Gold – a complete Carbon Assessment plus a Basic Guide to Net Zero that enables the business to visualise the carbon impact of its business operations and supply chain and start planning its journey to NZC.
- Gold + – a complete Carbon Assessment plus Advanced Guide to Net Zero, giving the partner a full understanding of every detail of its carbon impact, both in operations and the supply chain, and an integrated plan to move to net zero.
David Watts, managing director and senior vice president, UK and Ireland at TD SYNNEX, said: ‘We’ve launched the net zero carbon service because partners have been asking us what they can do about addressing their carbon footprint. We wanted to help them. At TD SYNNEX, we are doing everything we can to address our own emissions and move towards NZC. Partners want to do that too, but many don’t have the resources to commission a full analysis themselves. We have worked with Arete to come up with a service that is practical, scalable, and affordable. It will enable any partner business, of any size, to get a proper assessment of their Scopes 1,2, and 3 and develop an actionable plan to reduce their emissions.’
Partners need to act on NZC because customers are starting to ask them about it, he added. ‘As well as being the right thing to do, having a NZC plan makes business sense. End user customers are now asking their IT suppliers about their approach to sustainability, their carbon footprint, and NZC plans. Having a net zero strategy will add value to their business and support the building of long-term customer relationships.’
The TD SYNNEX NZC service will assess a partner’s own (Scope 1 and 2) emissions, and that of their supply chain (Scope 3). This is done using the globally accepted Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol. It will subsequently provide a plan detailing practical and actionable strategies to help the partner achieve net zero carbon emissions.
