Managed print services and cost-per-click options (which is available with OpenMPS) are becoming more popular with organisations that need to run shared multi-functional A3 devices with a fairly heavy duty cycle. These devices are often difficult to manage in-house, and contracting management out is very appealing to the customer, said Chris Bates, director – Print & Supplies, UK, at TD SYNNEX
‘It’s much easier for businesses that have large, A3 devices that are essential to the every-day functioning of the office. It’s important that they are always available, which means having a constant supply of replacement cartridges. Many customers also want to keep a close check on running costs, which is where the cost-per-click [or cost-per-print) options are attractive.’
There is a really healthy pipeline of business opportunities for the OpenMPS service at the moment and Chris Bates believes more partners could benefit from taking it to market. ‘It’s a great way to add value, keep the customer happy and generate regular income from supplies business. It is also very easy to sell and to provide as our OpenMPS master partner, EBM, takes care of all that, while TD SYNNEX provides the supplies fulfilment. All the partner has to do is bill the customer every month.’
TD SYNNEX is working with managed print specialist EBM, to deliver the service.
