As part of its continuing campaign to protect partner business, HP is continuing to crack down on makers and suppliers of fake cartridges. It’s also asking all authorised partners to register on its official list to protect their own interests.
► Registering as an HP partner will help to protect your supplies business
► Fake cartridges can damage devices
HP is working to set up an Authorized Partner List that will detail all official and accredited partners for HP-branded home and office printing solutions and ink and toner cartridges in EMEA. All partners have been sent a link through which they can register their authorised partner status and join the list.

TD SYNNEX has been contacting partners and advising them to get signed-up. ‘It makes sense for HP partners to register, for their own protection and to help HP quickly identify any potentially fraudulent activity or selling’ said Sebastian Olrog, Supplies Business Development Executive.
‘The distribution and sale of fake cartridges takes money out of partner’s pockets and can cause problems and impact the lifecycle of devices, so it’s important that everyone works together to prevent them getting onto the market and finding their way to customers.’
HP recently raided premises used by two counterfeiting operations in India, seizing 12,000 illicit items, including fake cartridges as well as large quantities of components, which could have been used to assemble numerous further fakes.
To safely buy original HP products, HP recommends:
- Only buy from trusted vendors, such as HP Partners.
- Only accept products in unopened original HP packaging.
- Beware of suspiciously low prices.
