TD SYNNEX’s first AI Ecosystem’s Showcase was successfully staged at the Belfry, near Birmingham last month, giving partners the opportunity to hear from some of the vendors and innovators leading the way in this market and helping partners to see how they can move forward and develop attractive value propositions.
► Thought-provoking presentations from industry leaders and partners
► Opportunity to collaborate, shape and inform your AI strategy
Key industry players involved included IBM, Lenovo, NetApp, and NVIDIA. Ebru Binboga, director of data & AI sales at IBM, gave the audience a fascinating insight into the different ways in which IBM is making use of GenAI models within its own business to deliver time- and cost-saving benefits and process improvements. She also went through IBM’s impressive watsonx.governance solution that is being used to scale AI responsibly for organisations and the resources that IBM makes available to partners to support them in developing their own AI propositions.
There was also a thought-provoking presentation from Steve Walker, solution lead for data and AI at Computacenter, on ‘the seven things to think about when it comes to adopting AI’. Guy Mozolowski, CTO of Origin Sciences, talked about its collaboration with other specialist organisations that is utilising AI to develop a more accurate method of identifying people at risk from colorectal cancer.
One partner who attended, Mark Wilson, technology and innovation director, Node4, said it has been genuinely useful. ‘It struck a good balance between promoting AI solutions and providing an insight into what’s happening in the market and where the opportunities lie. For us, it’s useful to cast the net wider and hear what others are thinking and doing. It helps us to shape and inform our own strategies and plans.’
The TD SYNNEX Industry Ecosystems team will be running more AI events in 2025. There are also programmes planned for the communities covering Healthcare and Financial Services. Neil Cornish, business manager for Industry Ecosystems, is keen to welcome more partners into the AI and other communities. ‘Coming to these sessions is a really good way to get a perspective of what’s out there right now, how innovative ideas and technologies might be used to benefit your customers and, most importantly, how collaboration can enable taking new solutions to market.’
The next AI events are already scheduled with the AI Round Table meeting in March and the next Healthcare Showcase held at IBM York Road on April 8th.
