► Half of UK Gen Zs use AI to summarise documents and notes

More than 1000 participants aged between 18 to 27 were interviewed for the 2024 AI-Preneur Effect study in the UK, with 59% naming AI as their ‘go-to’ tool for work. Globally, 62% say AI is the first resource that comes to mind when they need help at work – with Korean respondents engaging with it the most (80%). Of those who use AI day-to-day, 47% of Gen Zs in the UK said they use it to summarise documents or meeting notes and 39% consider AI to be useful for conducting research or finding inspiration.

But while 66% of UK participants expressed optimism for AI’s capabilities, 63% also said they felt overwhelmed and unsure about the vast array of new AI apps available to them.

The research also revealed that 51% found the realities of full-time work fell short of their expectations, with 79% of UK respondents keen to start ‘side hustles where they can follow their true passions’. The figure was 73% globally.
