TD SYNNEX has revealed that the move to its new and more energy-efficient office location in Basingstoke has led to a reduction of 54% in electricity usage when compared to the same period two years ago.

► More efficient HVAC and smart, LED lighting reduces consumption

► Part of wider effort to move UK&I operation to net zero carbon

The company recently received its first bill for the new Maplewood building, which it moved into in January. This was 54% lower than it was in the same period two years before, when the company was still in the nearby Redwood building. This was the first bill against which it was able to make a reasonable comparison due to the disruption that was caused by COVID.

The new Maplewood building has more efficient heating, ventilation and air conditioning, as well as LED lights and smart sensors. TD SYNNEX is also able to take advantage of electricity generated by the 500 solar panels on the roof of the building.

The move to the Maplewood location is part of TD SYNNEX’s efforts in the UK and Ireland to become more sustainable and move towards net zero carbon as quickly as possible. It is also drawing 90% of its electricity across four UK locations from sustainable sources.
