NetApp used the flagship INSIGHT customer conference in Las Vegas to make a series of announcements that further strengthen its storage and security portfolios and present partners with even more opportunities to benefit from the company’s excellent reputation. The new releases include a new all-flash addition to the ASA A-Series, and the general availability of the NetApp ONTAP® Autonomous Ransomware Protection with AI (ARP/AI) solution.
► Launches all-flash edition of ASA A-Series
► Announces availability of ARP/AI ransomware detection
► Sets out plans to drive more value from storage with AI
The new all-flash NetApp ASA A-Series system is optimised for block storage, providing simplicity, power and affordability to meet evolving customer needs for improved visibility and cost reduction storage. The ARP/AI solution meanwhile, provides 99% accuracy for detecting ransomware threats. Customers can use it to monitor abnormal workload activity and snapshot data automatically at the time of an attack and thus respond and recover faster.
NetApp CEO George Kurian kicked off the event by setting out how NetApp will use AI to deliver new capabilities and draw value from data. Plans include the creation of a ‘global metadata namespace’ that will enable data to be explored and managed securely. NetApp will also develop integrated AI pipelines to make unstructured data AI-ready, and a disaggregated storage architecture that will maximise network utilisation and flash speeds.
The company also revealed that it has combined its end-to-end enterprise AI vision and intelligent ONTAP data infrastructure with NVIDIA’s NeMo Retriever and NIM microservices, with the aim of transforming how customers discover, search and curate data across hybrid multi-cloud to fuel AI applications.
