Western Digital has announced that its PCIe Gen5 DC SN861 E.1S enterprise-class NVMe SSDs have been certified to support the NVIDIA GB200 NVL72 rack-scale system for compute-intensive AI environments
► Fast storage designed for heavy AI workloads
► 4TB and 8Tb versions available
The NVIDIA GB200 NVL72 system helps meet the diverse accelerated computing needs of data centres and provides manufacturers with a reference architecture that enables them to quickly and cost-effectively design systems while maintaining consistency and performance.
WD said that with storage becoming an increasingly significant and dynamic component of the AI technology stack, the certification of its SSDs for user with NVIDIA’s system will ‘take the guesswork out’ of the design process and achieve faster time to market for applications. Four- and eight-terabyte options of the DC SN861 SSD are available.
In June 2024, Western Digital introduced a six-stage AI Data Cycle framework that defines the optimal storage mix for AI workloads at scale. This helps customers plan and develop advanced storage infrastructures to maximise AI investments, improve efficiency, and reduce TCO of AI workflows.
