TD SYNNEX reduced electricity consumption by 25% last year

TD SYNNEX succeeded in cutting its electricity use by a quarter in the UK last year as a result of efficiency initiatives, such as LED lighting, lighting sensors and more efficient use of space.

► Consumption was down at all four UK locations

► Further efforts to cut usage underway

Consumption was down at all four locations – the Basingstoke, Bracknell and Warrington offices, and the warehouse at Magna Park, with an overall reduction of 25%. This also meant that the company’s energy costs went down, even though it switched to renewable tariffs, which carry a higher tariff, at all locations.

Kevin Wragg, director, environment and quality compliance, UK, TD SYNNEX, said: ‘At the start of 2023, we set ourselves an ambitious target to reduce electricity consumption by 20%, and to have actually beaten that by some distance is very pleasing. It demonstrates what can be done and I hope that it sets a good example to other companies and partners in the channel and encourages them to do something similar.

Further efforts are being made to reduce energy and these should see an additional reduction in the current calendar year. If you would like to learn more about how TD SYNNEX achieved a reduction in its electricity consumption, please click on the link below to send us an email.
