Cisco has started rolling out the latest and biggest-ever update for its Firepower next-gen firewall software, giving customers the very latest and best protection from all kinds of digital threats. For Cisco partners it’s an opportunity to re-engage in discussions on network security and make sure customers are right up to date.
► New firewalls offer the best and latest protection

► Make sure your customers upgrade now
The 7.0 firmware update includes a new detection engine, performance improvements of up to 30%, and a whole range of other enhancements that bolster network defences against the increasingly complex threat landscape. For any Cisco customer that has a Firepower NGFW (next-generation firewall) appliance, this is an important update and one they should apply as soon as possible, said Mike Leary, Cisco security business development manager at TD SYNNEX.
‘It’s a critical update that Cisco is delivering at exactly the right time, and customers need to understand that they should implement it right away. For Cisco partners, it’s an opportunity to inform and educate customers about the importance of keeping their firewall software up to date, and potentially sell additional services.’
To get the firmware update, customers will need to have a valid support contract in place. They may also need some assistance in applying the Firepower 7.0 release.
