Successful start for AI Industry Ecosystem

TD SYNNEX’s new AI Industry Ecosystem has got off to a successful start with the initial meeting of interested parties, and subsequent social media and press coverage, triggering a wave of activity that promises to make the first gathering of the full community in the summer a highly significant event.

► Both partners and customers want to see real-life use cases for AI

► First meeting of extended community to be scheduled for the summer

The planning meeting for the group took place at IBM’s York Road offices in central London and a follow-up gathering, which all interested parties will be invited to attend, is being planned for the summer. Neil Cornish, business manager, industry ecosystems, UK, TD SYNNEX, said he’d received numerous contacts from a variety of organisations that want to get involved.

‘Both vendors and partners have been in touch asking how they can contribute and that’s great as we are keen to welcome more parties that can add insight and value into the community. Our Industry Ecosystems are all about bringing businesses with different skill sets, experiences, and capabilities together and finding ways to deliver something new. If this initial gathering was anything to go by, we expect the initial meeting of the wider community will be extremely busy and stimulating.’

One of the most interesting points to come out of the inaugural meeting is an urgent need to demonstrate how AI is being usefully and practically deployed, he said. ‘Both partners and end-user customers want to see real-life use cases and better understand the ROI on AI. There are thousands of large language models out there already – that’s not the issue. It’s how do you integrate that into your business in a secure, compliant way that actually helps – that’s is the difficult part.’

This is just one of many questions and issues that the group will discuss at the wider community meeting in the summer. If you are interested in finding out more or taking part, please contact Neil.Cornish@tdsynnex.com or use the link below to contact our team.
