Recently, Chris Bates, (Business Unit Manager - Print and Supplies), caught up with Nico Michaelides of Epson to discuss their current strategy and campaigns for the reseller channel. Watch the full virtual interview above.

At Epson, our channel is a vital arm to our business. We sell through a wide range of sales outlets, from the big retailers and online stores, through to the smaller independents and IT Resellers. We’ve carefully segmented our products so that all types of partners have access to a range of products, some of them exclusive to their particular channel. For example, resellers have certain SKUs that the major retailers cannot purchase, meaning that they don’t have to compete with the big boys to sell popular models such as our flagship EcoTank printers. By having variants, not only can we give access to competitive pricing but just as importantly, stock availability.
In addition, we’ve given our resellers access to marketing assets both printed and online that they can use to amplify the current campaigns we’re running.
To help market and sell the Epson EcoTank range we’ve joined forces with the 100m world record holder Usain Bolt who’s been helping us promote the EcoTank. You may have seen the advert on TV or a billboard at one of our sites across the UK. Alongside the Usain Bolt campaign, we’re also promoting the eco-credentials of Epson’s inkjet printers in partnership with National Geographic.
Traditional laser printers generate a lot of heat as they fuse toner to the page, whereas only Epson’s inkjet technology is completely ‘heat free’, as it is not a thermal inkjet technology. Instead, ink is ejected from the print-head using our unique precision-core micro-piezo technology, which means that by switching to an Epson inkjet, businesses and homes can save energy, money and time.

Here at Epson we also practice what we preach. Not only are we turning down the heat in our printers, but we’re also going to be challenging our resellers and employees to turn down the heat in their homes. Just switching the thermostat back by one degree can reduce fossil fuel emissions by a significant amount. Plus, you can also save money on your energy bills, which is something that everyone is more conscious of at the moment. This is something we’ll be promoting in February as part of our National Geographic "Turn Down the Heat" campaign.
So there’s a lot going on! All the while, we continue to offer high value and a great service to our resellers when they purchase from us.
As well as our managed accounts who benefit from great rewards and the ongoing support of an account manager, we’ll also be relaunching our Advanced Rewards programme for our unmanaged partners so that they can not only take advantage of promotional pricing but also earn rewards for sales of Epson products.
