Team takes on Seven Sisters for Elevate Yourself Challenge 2024

A team of co-workers from TD SYNNEX (NYSE: SNX) UK has completed the famous 13-mile Seven Sisters hike over the white cliffs of England’s south coast to raise awareness of the contribution made by women to the business and across the IT industry as a whole.

► Walk also made in support of the TD SYNNEX Against Abuse campaign and raised money for Women’s Aid

Organised by TD SYNNEX’s Elevate business resource group (BRG), which drives and supports the empowerment of women, the Elevate Yourself 2024 (EY24) Challenge saw 23 co-workers who act as mentors and allies for women at the company take on the 13.2 mile trek.

‘Last year’s Scafell Pike challenge was really tough. We wanted to bring the event to the south this year and the Seven Sisters seemed like a very appropriate and suitable challenge’, said Sophie Burrows, marketing campaign manager, UK, TD SYNNEX and member of the Elevate board. ‘As well as their proximity to the Basingstoke and Bracknell offices, the symbolism of the name made it an ideal location for the EY24 Challenge.’

The team also raised money for Women’s Aid, which works to end domestic abuse against women and children. In October last year, with the support of Women’s Aid, the Elevate team launched TD SYNNEX Against Abuse in the UK campaign, to raise awareness of domestic abuse and support any affected co-workers. The company also joined the Employers’ Initiative on Domestic Abuse (EIDA), a leading business network that supports employers in taking action on domestic abuse.

The Seven Sisters are a series of iconic chalk cliffs stretching from Cuckmere Haven to Birling Gap, between Seaford and Eastbourne in East Sussex. Topped with a carpet of green grass and brilliant white cliffs that plunge dramatically into the sea, they are one of England’s most striking and memorable landmarks. While technically easy to walk, the extended distance and ascents and descents over the cliffs make it quite a challenge. Two trained guides led the group on the route.
